Sartor respectus

This representative of the head standing characins originates from the upper Rio Xingu in Brazil. These peaceful fish can often be found in small groups. Vegetarian food should not be omitted in its menu if we want this fish to thrive and grow well. Research on the stomach contents in nature, showed that these fish live mainly from insects, algae and freshwater sponges. Their final length should not exceed 25 cm, which makes these beautiful and strikingly marked fishes the perfect inhabitant for the South American aquarium with peaceful fishes like Heros and eartheaters and larger representatives of L-Number catfish.
